2013 Dunk contest winner Terrence Ross has picked LeBron James as the GOAT ahead of Michael Jordan. James has scored 40,474 in his glorious NBA career, which is the most for any player in the history of the league.
The upcoming season will be the 22nd of James’ career, which goes to show his longevity at the top level. Only Vince Carter played in the NBA for 22 seasons, which is the most by any player.
Speaking on his TikTok video, Ross said, “LeBron is literally, to me now, he’s the GOAT,” Ross said. “I don’t know how you put Jordan over him. If Jordan would have done what he was doing for 20 years, I’m like, yeah, like, LeBron has a long way to go.
Ross noted that Michael Jordan’s career was divided into two halves after he took retirement and then reversed his decision to make a comeback in the NBA.
“The truth of the matter is, he (Jordan) quit basketball twice, returned twice, got a three-peat on his first return, and the second time he came back, he was not the same player. LeBron has literally been on a peak his entire career.”
Jordan won NBA titles in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998 with the Chicago Bulls whereas LeBron James is a four-time NBA champion.
On the other hand, Ross also showered praise on James’ impressive run in the Paris Olympics. James averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists on 66% shooting in the Olympics and thus played an instrumental role in taking his team to glory.
LeBron James was named Olympic MVP after scoring 14 points with six rebounds and 10 assists in the summit clash against France.
“LeBron was the best player in the entire Olympics, bro,” Ross said. “Curry did his thing in the last two games. He absolutely shot the piss out of the ball like he’s known to do. LeBron literally put that team on his back and led them all the way there. I mean, without LeBron, Curry might not even get those shots off.”
The USA clinched their fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal after beating France by 98-87 in the final.
