Golden State Warriors continued their rich form as they defeated Utah Jazz by 94-92 on Sunday night. However, their talisman Steph Curry has continued to struggle with his shooting in the recent matches. Curry could only score 13 points for his team in 35 minutes he played.
The 33-year old veteran could only convert five of his 20 shots from the field and only one of 13 from three-point range, which is not the benchmark he sets for himself.
In fact, Curry has also been troubled with minor injuries in his hand and added that his hands are still attached to his body.
“They’re still attached to my body and I’m still getting up plenty of attempts,” the two-time MVP said after the game.
“I’m trying to have fun with this. It’s a big-picture perspective on how you approach the game, the work that you put in. It’s obviously frustrating. I want to shoot the ball, it’s frustrating. I kicked the chair the other day for that reason,” he said. “It’s not like I don’t care and not trying to figure it out but I don’t get preoccupied with it.”
On the other hand, Steve Kerr is a little worried regarding his star’s shooting accuracy but heaped praise on Curry for his ball-handling skills.
“Steph looks great physically. The last few games he’s playing some of his basketball in terms of handling the point guard duties,” Kerr said. “He’s taking care of the basketball, he’s playing great defense, shots just aren’t going. … He’s seemed inhuman for so long. I think everybody just expects him to be in a groove all season long and it’s just not the way it works.”
Meanwhile, Jordan Poole top-scored for Golden State Warriors with 20 points. GSW now has a 34-13 record and they will want Curry to return to his best. The team will next lock horns against Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
