The LA Lakers have suffered a huge blow as their talisman LeBron James has been ruled indefinitely after suffering an ankle injury against Atlanta Hawks. Hawks forward Solomon Hill fell on James’ right ankle after the latter had won the ball in the second quarter on Saturday.
Lakers lost the game by 99-94 but more importantly, they have lost the services of their most experienced player for an unknown period. James was seen writhing in pain and it is going to be a huge blow for the Lakers.
Before the Saturday game, James was averaging 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.0 assists in the ongoing season and thus he was once again on the top of the charts for the MVP of the season. However, it is going to be an uphill task for James as well as the Lakers from here.
This is a big blow for the Lakers as Anthony Davis is yet to return from his injury. James is known to carry the team on his shoulders and it will be a difficult job for the franchise to fill in his big shoes.
James took to his Twitter account and stated that he would aim to make a roaring comeback after recovery.
He wrote“Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to stand for my teammates! I’m hurt inside and out right now. ??♂️. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left”.
James is a pivotal cog in the Lakers’ wheel and his absence will definitely be missed by the team. Lakers have won 28 matches while they have lost 14 games in this season and thus they are currently placed at third place in the Western Conference standings.
The Lakers will next face second-placed Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
