The LA Lakers have made a roaring comeback in the ongoing conference semifinals against Houston Rockets. The Lakers had lost the first match of the series by 112-97 but bounced back to win the next two matches to take a 2-1 lead. The LA Lakers won the third game of the series by 112-102 and it is not a surprise that it was their superstar LeBron James who stole the show.
The King was at his absolute best as he had an all-round match and the Houston Rockets’ had no answers to his onslaught. James top scored with 36 points to help the Lakers take the crucial lead in the series. Not only, the 35-year old scored 36 points in the game but he also registered seven rebounds and five assists.
Furthermore, James came up with a fine defensive play as he recorded a total of four blocks. It was not easy to go past LeBron James as he was at the top of his game. In fact, the LA Lakers recorded a total of six blocks in the whole match.
James has had an illustrious career of 17 years and this was his 247th playoff game. As he added four blocks to his tally, he took his blocks total to 242. Consequently, he went past the previous record of Julius Erving, famously known as Dr. J, who had registered 239 blocks in his career.
In fact, it won’t be a surprise if James will soon average one block per game if he keeps going at the same rate. The superstar has been at his best and he would aim to continue his good show going in the rest of the matches.
Anthony Davis recorded 15 assists whereas Rajon Rondo provided nine assists to help the Lakers come up with a complete performance. The fourth game of the series will be played on Friday.
