Australia will lock horns against India in the fourth T20I at the Carrara Oval, Queensland on Thursday. With the series tied 1-1, both teams would want to come up with a collective effort. India had won the previous match at Hobart by five wickets after Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar delivered for the team.
While Singh returned with match-winning figures of 3-35, Sundar scored a blistering knock of 49 runs off 23 balls after he surprisingly didn’t get to bowl.
Singh hasn’t featured regularly for the team in T20Is and bowling coach Morne Morkel revealed that the left-arm seamer understands that he has been left out as the team is trying different playing combinations ahead of the next T20 World Cup. The left-arm seamer is expected to retain his place for the penultimate match of the series, and India can rest Jasprit Bumrah.
Meanwhile, Travis Head has been released to play in the Sheffield Shield to prepare for the Ashes. Similarly, India has also released Kuldeep Yadav and he would play for India A in the second unofficial Test against South Africa A. Josh Hazlewood was also earlier released from the Australian squad.
In the last game, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis were brilliant with the bat for the home team, but the other batters failed to deliver the goods.
