Afghanistan will square off against England in the eighth match of the ongoing Champions Trophy at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday. More than 700 runs were scored when England and Australia played each other at the same venue earlier in the tournament and another run-fest could be on the cards.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan had shocked England by 69 runs in the 2023 ODI World Cup after Mujeeb Ur Rahman scalped three wickets and also score a fine cameo of 16-ball 28 at Delhi and they would look to put in a similar performance.
But Afghanistan were outplayed by South Africa in their opening game of the Champions Trophy as suffered a 107-run loss. England, on the other hand, suffered a five-wicket loss against Australia despite posting 351 runs on the board.
