Kerala Blasters FC head coach Ivan Vukomanovic has quashed rumors of leaving the club. The Serbian manager has said he will continue to manage the club and has no intentions of quitting his job.
Kerala Blasters has won nine out of the 18 matches in the ongoing season and they are in fifth place in the ISL standings with 29 points. Ivan Vukomanovic’s men have drawn two matches and have lost seven. Thus, the Yellow Tuskers are on the cusp of confirming their qualification for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Vukomanovic also led Kerala Blasters to the final in the ISL 2021-22 season but they could not cross the final hurdle against Hyderabad FC.
“These rumours are false and baseless. I love Kerala Blasters and I want to continue managing the club. Kerala holds a special place in my heart. I absolutely love my job here and the thought of quitting has never been on my mind,” Vukomanovic told Manorama in an exclusive interview.
“I’m quite pleased with how Blasters have progressed over the last couple of seasons. I’m also excited to motivate this team to new heights,” he said.
Kerala Blasters FC lost their previous match against Mohun Bagan Super Giant by 3-4 and they will look to come back strong after the break. The Yellow Tuskers will want to come up with a collective effort and go all the way in the ongoing season.
Kerala Blasters FC will next take on NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati on April 6.
