Rajasthan Royals’ talisman batter Jos Buttler feels Prasidh Krishna has all the attributes to be a successful pacer for India in all three formats of the game.
Krishna has impressed with his extra pace and bounce and he can breathe down the neck of the opposition batters with his accuracy.
Krishna had bowled a fiery spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the team’s opening match of the season as he had returned with two crucial wickets of Kane Williamson and Rahul Tripathi.
Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna has made an incredible start to his ODI career as he has snared 18 wickets in seven matches. The lanky pacer from Karnataka has bowled with a fine average of 16.72 and has bowled with a parsimonious economy rate of 4.84. However, he is yet to make his T20I and Test debut for the national team.
“He has some pace in the nets and skills, he’s got all the attributes to be a very successful fast bowler for India in all formats of the game. I see him playing red-ball cricket for India as well,” Buttler said at the pre-match conference.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have a potent bowling line as they have experienced bowlers like Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
“Their experience is really invaluable. Having those guys is fantastic, we have lots of experience to draw from. Against Mumbai, the game was in the balance and we needed wickets. Ashwin came up with a fantastic wicket and then Yuzi got two for two. Those guys are top performers and they know how to get things done,” he added.
Meanwhile, the English wicket-keeper batter also showered praise on Sanju Samson’s captaincy. Buttler feels Samson is doing a fine job as a leader and he is getting the best out of the players as he is giving them the right environment to flower.
“Not many changes (since Sanju became captain). That is one of the greatest attributes any leader has to have — being yourself, being authentic.
“Sanju definitely has that. His game has matured, cricket has matured, he’s older and wiser than when we first started. We enjoy playing under his leadership. He makes a great environment. He’s a fun guy who has respect from the entire group.”
RR has got off to a fine start as they have both of their matches and they will face RCB on Tuesday.
