Punjab Kings and the two new franchises in IPL – Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans were able to make decent squads in IPL 2022 auction.
Punjab Kings completed their squad of 25 players, Gujarat Titans were able to rope in 23 while Lucknow Supergiants were able to get 21 players.
Punjab Kings were able to get the services of Shikhar Dhawan for INR 8.25 as he was the first player to go under the hammer in IPL 2022 mega auction. PBKS were also able to rope in players like Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Odean Smith, and Kagiso Rabada.

Gujarat Titans were able to sign players like David Miller, Jason Roy, Matthew Wade, Mohammed Shami, and Lockie Fergusson. Thus, they were able to make a balanced squad.

Wicketkeepers: Wriddhiman Saha, Matthew Wade

Bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson, Rashid Khan, R Sai Kishore, Noor Ahmed, Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph, Pradeep Sangwan, Varun Aaron, Darshan Nalkande.
Lucknow Supergiants also impressed with their selection in the IPL mega auction. They were able to get Quinton de Kock for a steal price of INR 6.75 crores. They also roped in fast bowlers like Mark Wood and Avesh Khan.
