Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Punjab Kings in the 31st match of the ongoing IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday. Both of these teams are currently in the bottom half of the points table and they will be looking to climb up the charts.
MI are surely finding its groove after getting off to a poor start and it is well known that they are a dangerous unit when they check the right boxes. After losing their first two matches, the Rohit Sharma-led team has made a resounding comeback to win the last three matches.
While Mumbai Indians’ graph had gone down before they pulled themselves up, Punjab Kings have followed a contrasting trajectory as they had won their opening two matches but have managed a solitary win in their last four games.
Punjab lost their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore after they could not chase down 175 runs. MI, on the other hand, registered a convincing 14-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game.
The likes of Tilak Varma, Cameron Green, and Ishan Kishan are putting their hand up for the five-time champions. However, they will want more from Suryakumar Yadav, who has not been able to get going so far in five matches.
Match Prediction: Mumbai Indians will enter the contest as favorites against Punjab Kings.
