IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals – Stats Preview

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians will face inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday in the 42nd match of the season. RR is currently at the summit of the points table with five wins in eight matches whereas MI is in eighth place with three wins in seven matches.

RR had won their previous match against Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs whereas MI suffered a huge loss of 55 runs against defending champions Gujarat Titans in their last game, which further dented their Net Run Rate.

MI hasn’t been able to come up with a collective team effort in the last two matches and they will be looking to tick the right boxes against a potent team.

Yuzvendra Chahal has snared 178 wickets in 139 IPL matches and he needs another six wickets to leapfrog Dwayne Bravo’s tally of 183 scalps and thus become the most successful bowler in IPL history.

Tilak Varma has scored 46 fours in the IPL and needs four more boundaries to get to 50 fours.

Piyush Chawla has scalped 168 wickets in the 172 IPL matches and thus he is three wickets away from leapfrogging Lasith Malinga’s tally of 170 wickets and becoming the third most successful IPL bowler.
