IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals – Stats Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore will play against Rajasthan Royals at their home ground at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru in a day game on Sunday. RCB has had a 2-2 record while playing at home in the ongoing season and they will be looking to better it.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, has ticked the right boxes so far as they have won four out of their six matches and currently sit atop the points table. However, the Sanju Samson-led could not manage to chase down 155 runs against LSG in their previous fixture and they will be looking to come up with a better batting show.

Once again, runs are expected to pour at the Chinnaswamy and we take a look at the records which could be achieved during the match.

Virat Kohli has gathered 6903 in 229 IPL matches and thus he is 97 runs away from becoming the first player in the IPL to score 7000 runs in the tournament.

RCB’s veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has amassed 4421 runs in 235 IPL matches at an average of 26.32. Karthik is 79 runs away from reaching the 4500-run mark in the IPL. He will become the second wicket-keeper in the IPL to do so after MS Dhoni.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis has mustered 3746 runs in the IPL and the right-hander needs another 254 runs to complete 4000 runs in the tournament.

Glenn Maxwell has scored 2495 runs in the tournament and needs another five runs to reach 2500 runs.

RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 727 runs in 29 IPL matches and he needs another 273 runs to get to the landmark of 1000 runs.

Devdutt Padikkal has amassed 1373 runs in 50 IPL matches and he requires another 127 runs more to reach 1500 runs in the tournament.

Yuzvendra Chahal has snared 177 wickets in 137 IPL matches and he needs another seven wickets to leapfrog Dwayne Bravo’s tally of 183 scalps and thus become the most successful bowler in IPL history.

Trent Boult has scalped 99 wickets in 83 IPL matches and the gun pacer will become the first from New Zealand to take 100 wickets in the IPL after taking one more wicket.
