Former Indian batter Robin Uthappa has backed Shikhar Dhawan to get a big score against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Tuesday. Dhawan has scored 138 runs in four matches of the ongoing IPL 2024 at an average of 34.50 and a strike rate of 131.42.
The left-hander has scored one fifty so far in the season and he would aim to lead from the front. Dhawan scored 70 runs against LSG but his efforts went in vain as they lost by 21 runs. The southpaw has been getting off to promising starts but he has failed to convert them into substantial scores.
“Shikhar Dhawan is due for a big score and we seldom see him going through an IPL without scoring big scores. I am amped up to see him score well (tomorrow) and see him score big runs. He has set some really high standards for himself as an opening batter and has always been among the runs in the IPL. I am predicting a big score from Shikhar Dhawan,” Uthappa said on Jio Cinema.
On the other hand, former England World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan expects Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head to shine for the Orange Army. The trio has been in good form in the ongoing season and SRH will hope that they could keep up the good show.
‘I think more fireworks from Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, the names just roll off the tippy of the tongue. It is not just in their own team, that they are causing fireworks, they are actually creating a lot of chat around the tournament at the moment. Both the sides on 4 points so there will be so many that will jump at the 6 points with a cluster of teams making early moves in the tournament but wouldn’t be believably exciting to watch. I am really enjoying the combination with Daniel Vettori, the new coach and Pat Cummins, the new SunRisers captain,” Morgan said while talking in the same panel.
PBKS will play against SRH at Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Tuesday.
