Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra reckons Virat Kohli is a storm you can’t stop for long. Kohli scored 21 runs off 20 balls in the opening match of the IPL 2024 against Chennai Super Kings. The talisman made a return to action after missing the five-match Test series against England for the birth of his second child.
Kohli has performed consistently in all three formats of the game and he will once again look to deliver the goods for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2024. The talisman is the highest run-getter in the IPL as he has scored 7284 runs in the tournament.
The right-hander has all the experience under his belt and he will aim to make the most of it in the ongoing season.
“My focus point will be Virat Kohli. He got to play only six balls in the first six overs in the last match. Then he was playing cautiously, played a good shot as well, and then he got out,” Chopra said on his YouTube Channel.
“For how long will you stop Kohli? He is a storm you can silence for some time but cannot stop. I am eager to watch his flowing batting,” Chopra added.
On the other hand, the renowned commentator added Glenn Maxwell, who was dismissed for a blob against CSK. Chopra added that RCB can not depend a lot on Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik, who both added a fine alliance against CSK.
“Maxwell got out for zero in the last innings. Glenn Maxwell needs to do well. His record has now become very good on this ground. He needs to score runs because you cannot depend too much on Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik. So my second player in focus will be Glenn Maxwell,” Chopra stated.
