Karachi Kings captain Babar Azam admitted that they haven’t been able to execute their plans and their fielding has been poor after they lost against defending champions Multan Sultans in the 23rd match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday.
Karachi Kings have struggled to get going in this season as they are yet to register their maiden win. Babar Azam-led team has lost all of their eight matches and they haven’t been able to come up with a collective effort.
The KK skipper feels his team has played better cricket in the last two matches but they haven’t been able to cross the line. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans won by seven wickets after Rilee Rossouw and Khushdil Shah added the finishing touches for their team.
On the other hand, Sharjeel Khan, Joe Clarke, and Rohail Nazir got off to starts but none of them could convert their starts into big scores. Furthermore, Umaid Asif and Chris Jordan returned with expensive bowling figures as both of them conceded more than 10 runs/over.
Babar Azam was disappointed with his team’s performance and feels they failed to grab their chances.
Azam said in the post-match presentation, “We’ve played well in the last two matches, unable to cross the line in the end. We haven’t executed our plans and our fielding has been poor. We have been making mistakes, hopefully, we perform better in the coming matches. Execution is the key”.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings haven’t been able to get any kind of momentum in the ongoing season and they would be certainly disappointed after a horrid show in the ongoing season.
Karachi Kings will look to come up with a better show in the remaining two matches and have some sort of a silver lining to their disappointing season. Kings will next face Lahore Qalandars on Friday.
