Ravichandran Ashwin questions David Miller after DC vs GT IPL 2026

Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin questioned David Miller after Delhi Capitals suffered a heartbreaking one-run loss against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Wednesday. Miller came under scrutiny after he could not take DC over the line in the run-chase of 211 when two runs were needed off the last two balls.

Surprisingly, Miller refused to take a single on the penultimate ball of the last over and then he could not make a connection with the ball on the final over, leading to Kuldeep Yadav’s run out at the striker’s end.

Ashwin found it baffling that Miller did not take the single on the second-last ball when he could have tied the game.

“Had I been Kuldeep, I would have pushed him to the other end and completed the single. I cannot understand; I cannot fathom. It’s beyond me; it’s bonkers. Because if you needed four or six runs, it would have been understandable,” Ashwin said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

“But they needed two runs. What are the odds? You could have taken a single. Kuldeep could have touched and run. And if not, even if Kuldeep was bowled, to take a 210-run chase into a Super Over means you have done well,” Ashwin said.

GT were able to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat as they were down and out when DC needed two runs off the final two balls. This was GT’s maiden win of the season and it would do them a world of good. Rashid Khan was awarded Player of the Match after returning with figures of 3-17 in his quota of four overs.

Delhi Capitals will next take on Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Saturday.
