Australia will lock horns against Bangladesh in the 44th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Thursday. Australia are always a dangerous team and they have been unbeaten so far in the tournament.
But, they were pushed by Scotland in their last group stage match and thus Bangladesh would stand a chance if they can bring their A-game. However, at the same time, it is well known that Australia lifts their game in the crucial stages of the big matches.
Marcus Stoinis has added a lot of firepower in the middle order for Australia whereas Travis Head has also continued his rich form at the top of the order. Furthermore, Adam Zampa has been right on the money and he is going to hold the key in the Caribbean conditions. Australia also has an experienced seam attack in Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood.
On the other hand, Bangladesh will want their talismanic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to be at his best. The left-hander scored a crucial knock of 64 runs against the Netherlands and he will be Tigers’ trump card against Australia.
Moreover, Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been brilliant for Bangladesh as the right-arm seamer has picked nine wickets in four matches at an impressive average of eight.
