TNPL 2022: Happy after winning four out of four, want to stick to the process – Baba Indrajith

Nellai Royal Kings captain Baba Indrajith was delighted after his team won their fourth match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022.

NRK defeated Madurai Panthers by 26 runs after the opposition won the toss and decided to bowl first at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul on Tuesday.

NRK was brilliant with the bat as they posted a par score of 209 runs. Sri Neranjan gave a good start to the team as he scored 47 runs from 27 balls while Baba Aprajith scored 34 runs.

Sanjay Yadav continued his dream form going for NRK as the left-handed batter scored a fine knock of 70 runs from 42 balls with the help of four fours and six sixes.
Furthermore, the skipper Baba Indrajith added the finishing touches, scoring an outstanding cameo of 18-ball 34.

On the other hand, Arun Karthik played a magnificent knock of 106 runs off just 57 balls for Madurai Panthers but he was the lone warrior in the run-chase as he didn’t get support from the other end.

Baba Indrajith said in the post-match presentation, “Happy with four out of four but want to stick to the process. Take one game at a time. Rectify mistakes. Batting is our strength. Not many teams have won batting first. Sanjay didn’t get his flow in the beginning. Showed his experience and maturity. Credit to Arun Karthik for the way he batted. They were two batters short, couple of them were injured but he played a brilliant knock.”

Meanwhile, Sanjay Yadav was once again awarded the Player of the Match for his superb knock for NRK.

Yadav said in the post-match interview, “Started well in powerplay. After the powerplay, they were bowling good, so we thought at least we can rotate and finish it well. Knew we had to bowl well.”

On the other hand, Madurai Panthers captain NS Chaturved gave credit to Arun Karthik for playing a brilliant knock, which went in vain.

He said after the game, “Morally feels like a victory. His form means a lot to us (talking of Arun Karthik). He’s carried the team from the first year. 180-190 was chaseable. Lost it on small margins. My ankle is better. No information on Aditya who’s been taken to hospital.”

NRK will next face IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans on Sunday at the SNR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore.
