Virat Kohli could be the greatest after Don Bradman, Rohit Sharma makes me jealous – Sangakkara

Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara believes the Indian captain Virat Kohli could end his career as the greatest ever after Don Bradman. Sangakkara also heaped praise on India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who he feels makes him jealous because of his flamboyant strokeplay.

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been brilliant for the Indian team and they have been instrumental in the success of the side. Kohli is consistent in all the three forms of the game whereas Rohit has done a fine job in both the limited-overs formats.

Rohit Sharma is a treat to the eyes when he gets going. The stylish batsman has an extra second when he is batting and he has got all the time under his belt when he is facing the quicks. Rohit has also led Mumbai Indians to four IPL titles which makes him the most successful IPL captain.

“Rohit Sharma, he’s another wonderful cricketer. I love watching Rohit bat. He makes me jealous because I wish I could have that languid kind of approach and that kind of almost zero effort in batting. He’s so graceful, so poised and balanced, and a wonderful captain for Mumbai Indians as well”, said Sangakkara in the RK Show on YouTube.

On the other hand, Kumar Sangakkara praised Virat Kohli for his fitness and passion. Kohli is one of the best batsmen of the current era and he keeps getting better with every game.

The right-hander is the most consistent batsman and his record while chasing in ODIs is second to none. Kohli is the solitary batsman to have an average of more than 50 in all the three forms of the game and has already scored 70 International centuries in his illustrious career. Sangakkara feels Kohli has an opportunity to finish as the greatest ever after Don Bradman.

“There’s nothing to dislike about Virat. He’s someone I admire hugely and (he’s) already a great of the game. He has the opportunity to become maybe the greatest after the Don (Don Bradman)”, former Sri Lanka wicket-keeper batsman added

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the best in the business and their records speak for themselves. Both the right-handers are already the greats of the game and they still have a lot of fuel left in the tank.

There is no doubt that they are the pillars of strength on which the Indian batting line-up is standing tall. Both of them will look to keep up the good work and make a fine comeback into International cricket.
