Australia’s southpaw batsman David Warner feels it will be almost impossible for other active batsmen to catch Virat Kohli’s record of scoring most International centuries. Warner shared a post on his Instagram story where he said that the active players won’t be catching Virat Kohli as the Indian skipper has already scored 70 International centuries in his glorious career.
Second on the list is David Warner himself as he has scored 43 International centuries. Chris Gayle has scored 42 hundreds whereas Rohit Sharma and Ross Taylor have scored 40 centuries each.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar had scored 100 centuries in his sublime International career. The Master Blaster scored 51 Test centuries whereas he scored 49 ODI hundreds. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting scored 71 centuries in his career and thus Virat Kohli is third on the list of most centuries.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored his last International hundred against Bangladesh in the pink-ball Test match at Eden Gardens in 2019. Since then, Kohli has not scored an International century, which has been a surprise for all the cricket aficionados.
In fact, 2020 was the second year in Kohli’s career when he couldn’t score an International hundred. Thus, Kohli will look to break his century drought in the upcoming World Test Championship final against New Zealand.
Kohli has scored 27 centuries in the Test format whereas he has scored 43 hundreds in the ODI version. The talisman is one of the most consistent batsmen in the modern era. However, Kohli is yet to score a century in the T20I version.
Meanwhile, Kohli will like to lead from the front on the England tour. The linchpin is going to hold the key both as a leader as well as a batsman.
