West Indies will lock horns against India in the first ODI at the Queen Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on Friday. India will enter the series high on confidence after the series win against England and they will look to continue their good form.
Team India will be led by Shikhar Dhawan and he will look to get the best out of his players. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the ODI series and thus it will give opportunities to other young players, who would look to take their chances.
Players like Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, and Arshdeep Singh will look to make the most of their chances if they will be selected in the final XI. Ishan Kishan is expected to take the gloves in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Furthermore, Shardul Thakur is expected to play as a seam bowling all-rounder.
On the other hand, West Indies were recently whitewashed by Bangladesh by 3-0 in the ODI series. The Windies will also look to come up with a collective effort and they will up against a potent Indian team.
West Indies is in the rebuilding stage and Nicholas Pooran will aim to get the best out of his players.
