Zimbabwe will take on India in the second ODI of the three-match at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on Saturday. India drew first blood in the series as they won the opening match by 10 wickets and dominated with both bat and ball.
The Indian opening bowling pair of Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj was right on the money with the new ball and the Zimbabwean batters had no answers to their onslaught. Chahar scalped three wickets in his opening spell to leave the hosts’ top-order in tatters and he was also awarded the Player of the Match for his bowling show.
Furthermore, Prasidh Krishna and Axar Patel scalped three wickets each while Siraj took one wicket. Zimbabwe’s innings were folded for only 189 runs as their batters could not get going against a quality bowling line-up.
On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill made a merry of the run-chase as both of them batted at the top of their game to chase down the score in only 30.5 overs. Thus, it was a convincing win for India and the KL Rahul-led team will look to continue the good show in the rest of the matches.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will need to come up with a collective effort in order to challenge the Indian juggernauts. Zimbabwean batters could not get going with the bat and they will aim for a better show in the second game.
Match Prediction: India will enter the contest as favorites against Zimbabwe given their team strength and form.
