Hero ISL 2021-22 Semi-final dates announced; Final to be played on March 20

 

Football Sports Development Limited has announced Hero Indian Super League 2021-22 Semi-final dates on Thursday. The final of the eighth season of the tournament will be played on March 20 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.

The first-leg semifinals will be played on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12. Subsequently, the second-leg semifinals will be held on Tuesday, March 15, and Wednesday, March 16.

The ongoing season of the Hero ISL has been a closely fought season as still the nine teams are in contention to make it to the semifinal stages. Hyderabad FC is currently at the top of the standings with 29 points under their bag whereas FC Goa is in ninth place with 18 points.

Thus, it is going to go right down to the wire and all of these nine teams will look to give their best in their respective remaining matches.

The ‘Away Goal’ rule will not apply in the Semi-finals this season. Teams that will have the highest goal aggregate in their respective two-legged matches will advance to the Final.

Meanwhile, the league phase will conclude on March 7 and the table-toppers will be the League Shield winners. Furthermore, they will qualify directly for the group entry stage of the AFC Champions League for the next season.

 

Hero ISL 2021-22 Semi-Finals and Final dates:

Friday, March 11 – Semi-final 1 – 1st leg

Saturday, March 12 – Semi-final 2 – 1st leg

Tuesday, March 15 – Semi-final 1 – 2nd leg

Wednesday, March 16 – Semi-final 2 – 2nd leg

Sunday, March 20 – Final
