Jamshedpur FC head coach Scott Cooper was delighted after a thumping win of 5-0 against Hyderabad in the Indian Super League at the GMC Balayogi Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday. Daniel Chima Chukwu scored a hat-trick for the Red Miners whereas Seiminlen Doungel also found the back of the net for the visitors.
Furthermore, Jonathan Moya scored an own goal in the 74th minute to add salt to an injury for Jamshedpur FC.
Chukwu was able to put Jamshedpur FC in front in the second minute and from there on the tourists dominated the whole contest. The visitors took five shots on target and they were able to convert all five attempts.
“It was one of those games where both teams knew they must win. We never came in with any illusions of anything else, or any excuses or anything prepared. We didn’t give our players anywhere to hide or anything they could hang on. Even being away from home, it was a must-win game,” Cooper stated in the post-match press conference.
Cooper feels his team ticked all the right boxes as they came up with a dominant performance.
“Teams have seen us pass a ball, and make chances, but they haven’t seen us play a complete game. Tonight we played a more complete game and even then Rei (Tachikawa) and Jeremy (Manzorro) missed two huge chances,” he shared.
The tactician was not happy after two players didn’t play according to the formation that they had planned for 15 minutes and thus the opposition could have equalized.
Cooper shared, “At 1-0, I was actually very concerned. I was very frustrated because we had two of three players, maybe three is too harsh, but two players were not playing in the shape we practised, and therefore, there was a 15-minute spell there that Hyderabad FC looked like they would score to get the equaliser.”
Jamshedpur FC will next take on Odisha FC at the Kalinga Stadium on 29th December.
