Jamshedpur FC made a roaring comeback from 0-1 down against Hyderabad FC in the 14th match of the ongoing Hero Indian Super League at Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on Wednesday. It was in the dying minutes of the game when Stephen Eze came up with an equalizer. The Nigerian bulleted the ball into the net in the 85th minute of the game to help his team share points with Hyderabad FC.
However, the team’s head coach Owen Coyle believes his team could have won the game as they had an impressive second half. Jamshedpur played with intensity after they were 0-1 down as Hyderabad FC skipper Aridane Santana scored the opening goal of the match in the 50th minute of the game.
In fact, Hyderabad had totally dominated the first half of the game but there were not many chances created. However, Jamshedpur FC were able to pull up their socks in the second half of the game.
Coyle said in the post-match presentation, “In the second half, there was a lot more intensity from us, should have taken the lead but then we conceded. From that point on, there was only one team trying to win the game. We never let our heads drop. We picked ourselves up and went again, and we feel bad not to have won the game after that second half.
“As much as Hyderabad were breaking in the second half, we were the team that forced everything on. I think that second half was much better from us.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC second choice goalkeeper Pawan Kumar also made a mistake as he made a half-stop and Aridane Santane was available at the right place at the right time. Coyle added they need to do better defending as they know they can score goals.
Jamshedpur FC will next face ATK Mohun Bagan on 7th December at the same venue of Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco.
