Jamshedpur FC talisman striker Greg Stewart has decided to part ways with the team, the club announced on social medial handles on Tuesday evening. Stewart had a brilliant season for Jamshedpur FC and he was also awarded the Hero of the League award for his prolific performances.
The Scottish player scored 10 goals in 21 matches for Jamshedpur FC in the previous season and he finished as the third highest goal-scorer of the edition. Furthermore, the attacking midfielder also provided 10 assists, which was the highest in the previous season of the Hero ISL.
“Thank you Greg Stewart for your immense contribution to the Men of Steel and your ever-lasting presence on the pitch which got us one step closer to creating history. We wish you the very best for your journey ahead,” read the club’s statement.
Stewart played an instrumental role in the success of the team and played a key part in taking to their maiden League Winners Shield trophy after the club finished with 13 wins in 20 matches to top the league stage.
Furthermore, he produced 61 shots and 73 crosses throughout the season. Thus, Jamshedpur FC will have big shoes to fill to replace a player like Greg Stewart.
On the other hand, Odisha FC has acquired the services of Spanish midfielder Victor Rodriguez Romer, who is their last foreign signing of the season for the club before the new edition. Rodriguez comes in with the experience of playing five seasons in the LA Liga and he has made the move from Spanish team Elche and he is definitely going to add value to Juggernauts.
Rodriguez has played for teams like Elche, Sporting Gijon, Getafe, and Zaragoza and played a total of 143 matches. Rodriguez is now Odisha FC’s fourth Spanish player in the team.
