Jamshedpur FC assistant coach Steven Dias admitted it was a bad game for them after their 5-1 loss against Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Monday.
The home team trialed by 3-0 after the first half with Pratik Chaudhari (own goal), Irfan Yadwad, and Connor Shields finding the back of the net. Furthermore, Wilmar Jordan and Lukas Brambilla continued their purple patch as the duo scored in the second half.
The Marina Machans took 10 shots on target whereas the home team could only take four attempts on target.
During the post-match conference, Jamshedpur FC assistant coach Dias highlighted the team’s bad day and their goal to come back stronger, “I think this was one of the bad matches for us.”
“I don’t think my players are lacking anything. If you see the positive side, they(the players) were together, for the last 15 minutes they were attacking together and defending together. I think every team goes through this (phase) and it is important for us right now to bounce back stronger. We will go back, rectify our mistakes, and come back stronger,” he added.
Jamshedpur FC have lost their last two matches but more worryingly, they have conceded 10 goals in these two games. The Red Miners earlier suffered a 5-0 loss against NorthEast United FC and they certainly need to pull up their socks in the defense.
Khalid Jamil’s team will look to make a better comeback after the International break. Jamshedpur FC will next lock horns against previous season’s League Shield champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant on November 23.
