Former World No.1 Novak Djokovic has revealed that Tennis is still his focus. The Serbian recently opted out of the Paris Masters and the Nitto ATP Finals after an unspecified injury.
Djokovic could not add to his tally of 24 Grand Slams in 2024 but won the elusive Gold medal at the Paris Olympics. The veteran is still at the top of his fitness and he can definitely add more prestigious titles to his glittering cabinet in the upcoming seasons.
“It’s quite an honor to qualify for the @nittoatpfinals in Turin. I was really looking forward to being there, but due to ongoing injury I won’t be playing next week,” Djokovic announced on Instagram. “Apologies to those who were planning to see me. Wishing all the players a great tournament. See you soon!”
“Tennis is still my focus,” said Djokovic while attending a basketball game at Belgrade. “I am going at full throttle in the off-season, we go for another ride. I just needed to recharge and refresh a bit after an exhausting year.”
Djokovic said he will be in action for the upcoming Australian Open in 2025.
“I am going to play in the first week of the season, I am just not sure yet where. Then, of course, the Australian Open.”
Djokovic has got all the experience under his belt and he will look to hit the ground running in the next season of the tour. The Serbian has won the Australian Open on 10 occasions and he will look to add more in the next season.
